All I can say is WOW
Getting here was a slog - I checked out of my hotel In Melbourne Monday morning, went to my final day of tennis, had a beautiful tapas dinner, then picked up my bags and headed to the airport for a redeye to Bangkok. Then connected on a short flight south to Krabi, where I was met and driven to this resort, the Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay.
A before and after photo - first leaving the AO Monday afternoon and second arriving at the resort after about 20 hours of travel and an hour of sleep.
But so worth it.
I have an ocean view villa with a plunge pool where I spent the afternoon resting in the shade. I have a view of the ocean, with limestone islands off shore, long tail boats gliding by, and gorgeous foliage. That last photo is the view I woke up to this morning after a good nights rest.
The birds and the animals are abundant - this monkey just came to visit while I was having coffee on my deck. Scared the bejesus out of me.
This room is perfectly located near the sunset bar, where I had a cocktail and snacks while watching the sunset into the sea last night. Breathtaking.
I have a lot more to explore, but have gotten off to a great start here in SE Asia. More soon!
