Arrived home Sunday night. Debbie was kind enough to share her car to drop me in NY before taking her home to CT. A godsend with the injury and 4 bags! I may have picked up a few things along the way…

I was very happy to be home and to get a good nights sleep in my own bed. Excellent feeling!
But what I was most excited about was seeing the Orthopedist at NYU on Tuesday. I had booked an appointment with Philipp Leucht, who I’d worked with in his capacity as Vice Chair for Research in Orthopedics. But he is also an awesome ortho trauma surgeon , And as I suspected, I needed a surgical procedure to really fix my wrist. So he put me on his schedule for first thing this morning. 5:30 am check in at the NYU Langone Orthopedics Hospital was a privilege.

The surgery lasted only about 45 minutes. It was an ORIF - Open reduction, internal fixation.
This this was the result;

I’m home in NY recovering now. Amy came to pick me up from the hospital and get me settled. Totally a godsend. I have the best sisters ever known 🥰
I am recovering well. But It’s weird. My whole right arm is still numb from the nerve block anesthetic. It’s excellent because I can feel no pain for the first day or so, but so strange to have this zombie appendage. Plus, my fingers and exposed arm are bright orange from the Betadine, I’ve taken to calling it my Chorizo arm/fingers. Smoked paprika and betadine have similar characteristics!

I’m very happy to be home and recovering. And so thankful for the journey of a lifetime.
When//where is the next one??
