If you have found your way to this site, you probably know me already, but if you don't - I'm Laura Boughton and I am delighted to meet you!  

On January 1, 2026, after working 40+ years in consulting and in academic health systems, I am trading my briefcase for a backpack and kicking off the "next chapter" of my life.  

Up first:  a 3+ month solo trip to Australia and Southeast Asia where among there things, I will attend the Australian Open, get some quality beach time, kayak and snorkel in the Andaman Sea, see Angor Wat at sunrise,  and finally sail back from Sydney to LA on the Queen Anne.

It's going to be a rager!!  

I expect to chronicle the journey here in words, images, and reflections, which I hope will act as a both a record of trip and share my thinking about what my "next chapter" will look like when I return.  ​
