California Dreamin’
Updated: Apr 15
Landed in LA a week ago after 21 days at sea. It’s been a great week with my Sister Deb!

We spent our one full day in LA at Universal Studios. Took the VIP option, which gave us a great studio tour, including a walk through a working sound stage, the huge prop house, and “colonial street”, a backlot full of house sets that was home to desperate housewives, leave it to beaver, and many other shows in between. We also went on some rides, toured the various sections - Harry Potter, the Simpsons, etc. - and had an overall fun and full day.

Then we rented a car and headed out for a classic road trip up the Pacific Coast Highway. Deb’s driving was masterful. That Big Sur coast line is no joke and she picked up all the driving like a pro. So thankful we were able to do this ride as planned, in spite of my injury.
Spent a night in Santa Barbara, one in Ragged Point (south of Big Sur), and one in Monterey before arriving to San Francisco. The journey was awesome. Stopped at Hearst Castle, which was spectacular.

The coastline views were as spectacular as I remember.

And the sunsets were spectacular as well!

Quick stop at the Carmel mission.

Loving SF in spite of the rainy weather!

Going on a food tour of Chinatown and north beach/ little Italy soon, and heading home in the morning!

what a beautiful journey. thank you for sharing the ups downs and your intrepid spirit to go through everything on your own with great strength and optimism. glad you are ok after your injury. and so happy to see Deb with you. that was so nice
