We drove about 4 hours to Nam Kat Yorla Pu, a protected forest along the Nam Kat River. This hotel was really beautiful, with lush foliage, streams, koi fish, and private villas overlooking the river. The highlight was a great hike over many rope bridges to a waterfall in the forest, with a zip line adventure down. So fun!

The hotel setting was very beautiful, and several of us enjoyed some downtime poolside before a yummy dinner (with way too much food, although delicious!) on site.

The next morning, we set out in an open top van to reach the start of the hiking trails to the waterfall at the summit. The drive was through a bamboo forest, and had multiple water crossings, even in this dry season.

And the bridges! OMG they were scary and high, but so much fun.

We made it to the waterfalls, surviving the bridge hike.

Then 4 of us suited up to tackle the zip lines down!

But off we went…so much fun!

After an active morning, I chilled with an excellent massage in the late afternoon and then joined the gang for a cooking class in the nearby village. We cooked fish curry in bamboo, a chicken soup, mixed vegetables, and sticky rice all on open flames. It was fun and turned out delicious.
A great day, with wonderful people.
