I’ve been back home for three months today. Wow.
Life now is so beautifully ordinary. We celebrated America’s 250th birthday in RI watching the old school pots and pans parade.

The Pots and Pans parade is a longstanding tradition at Roy Carpenter's Beach. I love it.

This place is really magical. Our cottage is about 100 yards from the ocean. We can hear waves crashing as we fall asleep. The sunsets are to die for

We eat really well. Jim loves his lobster and is an excellent chef!

The restaurants here also have absolutely killer views.

View from our table at the Matunuck Oyster House, South Kingston RI.
And our beach! This “haunted house” had seemed ready to fall into the sea since I was a kid, but it is still standing.

The beach roses remain sublime.

While I have spent most of my time this summer in Rhody, that’s not all there is. Randomly, we found ourselves at the Tony awards. So fun to dress up in black tie attire and watch the amazing show live. Once in a lifetime experience!!

And sports! Go NY Go NY go!!! And we rigged it so we could watch Wimbledon and the World Cup simultaneously. I don’t know what I will do with myself now that Wimbledon is over and the World Cup is ending no soon. Since when am I such a sports fan??

And finally…my Birthday was Friday. Yep, I’m 63 now. How can that be? The milestone was celebrated with Deb and Amy and an amazing dinner at the Matunuck Atelier on Friday, with a really fantastic sisters weekend to follow. There was antiquing. And lunching, And cooking. And laughing. I am so blessed, and I am confident that this year will be astounding.

I’ll post again my soon - though my content here at home is much less exotic than when I was traveling.
