Koh Rong

Our final two nights in Cambodia were at the beautiful island of Koh Rong.

Getting there was an adventure - speed boat on the river from the tented camp, to a bus, which took us to the coast in Preah Sihanouk, where we stopped for lunch. We ate at a beach club called Angkor Beach Bar, which made me laugh because of its similarity to Anchor Beach in Milford where I grew up. The tables opened to the beach, where there were locals selling many different foods, often from trays balanced on their heads. I had grilled prawns, which were hard work to dehead and shell, but were delicious.

Had time for a quick stroll on the beach before boarding the fast ferry to Koh Rong.

It was so nice to arrive at the resort, which had an amazing beach and a friendly bar/restaurant.

The food was delicious. We had a seafood barbecue on our last night there which was extra special, but the ala carte choices were great too. I especially liked the local fish ceviche and the tuna tartare.

Not much to share about activities etc because several of us opted to skip the morning kayaking/hike so that we could get more beach time. So most of my time on Koh Rong was consisted of this view, which was perfect!

Loved Cambodia, and highly recommend it. See you in Bangkok!
